Invested in America's
Critical Infrastructure

An independent sponsor partnering with founder-led businesses in the physical economy.

The Firm

Capital With Conviction

GTR Capital Partners is an independent sponsor founded in 2025 by George Tilghman and Graham Reinhard.

We acquire and build businesses that sit at the heart of America's physical economy — the contractors, operators, and infrastructure companies that keep power flowing, buildings functioning, and communities connected.

Our model is straightforward: identify exceptional founder-led businesses at attractive valuations, partner with operators who have built legacies worth preserving, and apply institutional-grade operational and financial rigor to unlock the next phase of growth. We are long-term partners, not extractors.

01
Founder-First Philosophy
We seek operators who have built durable businesses and want a true partner to take their company to the next level — not a replacement.
02
Thematic Conviction
GTR operates at the intersection of America's most urgent capital needs: grid modernization, digital infrastructure, and the energy transition.
03
Operational Partnership
We bring institutional systems — finance, HR, technology, sales — so operators can focus on winning work and building client relationships.
04
Platform Building
Each acquisition is a building block toward a scaled regional platform positioned for a premium exit to strategic and financial buyers.
Investment Strategies

Two Pathways, One Thesis

GTR invests across two complementary strategies, each targeting the infrastructure economy from a different angle.

GTR Private Equity
Control Buyouts & Roll-Up Platforms
GTR's flagship strategy acquires controlling interests in founder-led infrastructure businesses, professionalizes operations, and builds scaled regional platforms through a systematic buy-and-build approach.
Control or majority stake (70–85%)
Targeting businesses with $500K+ EBITDA
Electrical contracting, underground utility & site services
Defensible margins with high free cash flow
GTR Venture Capital
Minority Stakes in High-Growth Operators
GTR's venture capital strategy takes minority positions in differentiated infrastructure businesses with significant organic growth potential. We invest where the team is exceptional and the market tailwind is durable.
Minority, non-control growth investments
Proven operators with expanding addressable markets
Technology-enabled infrastructure and services
Partnership-first; founder retains strategic direction
GTR Private Equity — Approach

A Disciplined Playbook

Our flagship strategy follows a systematic, repeatable framework — from sourcing to exit.

Source
We build proprietary deal flow through direct outreach, search director networks, boutique banking relationships, and SMB marketplaces — prioritizing off-market opportunities where we can move decisively and structure creatively on behalf of founders.
Acquire
We target businesses with strong growth profiles, defensible margins, and high free cash flow conversion. Our structures are founder-friendly: majority buyouts with meaningful seller rollovers and a clear path to a second liquidity event upon platform exit.
Build & Exit
Post-acquisition, we implement scalable systems, drive margin expansion, and execute regional density through tuck-in acquisitions — building platforms that command premium valuations from strategic and financial buyers.
Portfolio

Current Investments

GTR has made two initial investments establishing our presence across both strategies.

GTR Private Equity
American Gridwork Partners
Electrical Infrastructure
American Gridwork Partners (AGP) is a platform vehicle within the electrical infrastructure and grid services sector. GTR operates as a co-GP, targeting the consolidation of founder-operated contractors serving commercial, utility, and data center markets. This partnership has enabled GTR to build differentiated industry relationships across the electrical contracting ecosystem — positioning AGP as a scaled, regional operator in one of the fastest-growing segments of U.S. infrastructure.

Regent
Electric Seaglider Manufacturer
REGENT is pioneering the next generation of coastal transportation with its electric seaglider — a vessel that flies just above the water's surface using ground effect, combining the speed of flight with the efficiency of marine travel. GTR's minority investment supports REGENT's commercialization efforts and growth into high-demand coastal markets.
